Arthur W. Perry, MD, FACS is a board certified plastic surgeon. For over twenty years, he has participated in the research of methods that postpone the signs of aging.

Dr. Perry graduated from Rutgers College magna cum laude with high distinction in zoology and received his MD degree with distinction in research from the Albany Medical College of Union University in 1981. He then trained in general surgery at Harvard Medical School's Beth Israel Hospital and in burn surgery at the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center. Following this, he trained in plastic surgery with Thomas J. Krizek, MD, FACS at the University of Chicago where he was Chief Resident in 1987. He then performed a cosmetic surgery fellowship with Drs. Baker and Gordon in Miami.

Dr. Perry then joined the full time faculty of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. While he is now in private practice, he was recently promoted to Clinical Associate Professor and has an active role in the teaching of medical students in his private office. In addition, he holds the faculty rank of Clinical Associate at the University of Pennsylvania, where he helped teach the plastic surgery residents aesthetic plastic surgery.

Dr. Perry's practice consists of aesthetic, or cosmetic surgery. He has published extensively in this field and has contributed not only scientific papers to journals but also chapters to medical textbooks. He presented original research on liposuction at the national meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and published an important article in the journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His book, Are You Considering Cosmetic Surgery, was published by Avon Press in 1997. His second book, Straight Talk about Cosmetic Surgery, was published in 2007 by Yale University Press.

• He was a member of the advisory board for Congressman Mike Ferguson in 2001.

• He was appointed by Governor Christine Whitman to the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners in 1995 and was reappointed in March of 2000, ultimately spending over 10 years on the Board.

• He was elected Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee of the Board for 2002-3.

• He was Chairman of the advertising and mesotherapy committees, and the special designee for bioterrorism issues, as well as the representative to the Department of Health and Human Service's Invasive Cosmetic Procedure Committee.

• He was chosen to be Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Somerset Medical Center in 2003 and was again chosen in 2004 and 2005. He recently was selected to be an examiner for the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Perry has been selected for inclusion in the Best Doctors in the New York Metro Area in 1999 and 2000. He was listed in the Top Doctors in the New York Area for nine years in a row. He is listed in the nation's top cosmetic doctors book in 2004 and 2005 and 2006. He was listed as one of four plastic surgeons in the New Jersey Life magazine's Top New Jersey Doctors and was listed as one of eight plastic surgeons in New Jersey Magazine's Top Doctors in 2005.

In April of 2006, Dr. Perry was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Contributions to Plastic Surgery and to the NJ State Board of Medical Examiners by the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons.
